AnnMarie is a graduate of Walden University and has completed the Licensed Professional Counselor in Mental Health (LPCMH) program. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College in Liberal studies in 2001. She is passionate about helping others and has been in the helping profession her entire life. 

 

AnnMarie is a United States Air Force veteran retiring in 2013 after 24.5 years of service. During this tenure, she worked in Aerospace Medicine, Nursing Services, and Optometry Services with multiple overseas tours. After retirement, she worked at the Veterans Administration (VA) in the psychiatry unit, caring for veterans with various mental health conditions. She taught stress management, time management, breath, meditation, and mindfulness classes. Additionally, she provided emotional support to veterans in crisis.

AnnMarie’s preferred modalities include the holistic approach integrating mind, body, spirit, and emotional well-being. She prefers to use imagery, breath, meditation, journaling, storytelling, mindfulness, light therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and narrative therapy to help clients better understand themselves, leading to better self-regulation and managing thoughts and feelings effectively.

She is a compassionate, empathetic person who enjoys helping others as it is her life purpose. She prefers to work with adults, and her areas of specialty include grief, depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and military and veteran issues.

AnnMarie is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
